Jailed 'Austin Powers' Actor Allegedly Killed Cellmate

Already serving time in jail for raping and torturing a woman, 40-year-old actor Joseph Hyungmin Son is the top suspect in the murder of his 50-year-old cellmate. Son -- who starred as Random Task in 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,' a play on the 'Goldfinger' character Odd Job -- was sentenced to life in prison last month after being convicted of felony torture, a charge that stemmed from an incident that occurred on Christmas Eve in 1990. His unnamed cellmate was a 50-year-old male serving a two year sentence for failing to register as a sex offender. In 1990, the actor and a friend kidnapped a woman, repeatedly raped her and threatened her with a firearm before letting her go free. Son was never charged with the heinous crime until an unrelated arrest in 2008 forced him to give a DNA sample which was then linked to the attack. "I feel debilitating fear come over me and am convinced a hand is coming from behind again," said Son's victim, only identified as Jane Doe, in court. "My emotional scars are intense. My 20s were stripped from my life as I relearned how to walk, see, hear and cope with the outside world again. Joseph Son not only cost me my job at my salon but also my college savings ... not to mention the impact it's made on celebrating Christmas year after year." Wasco State prison officials have only named Son as a suspect in the death of his cellmate. A full investigation will take place before charges are filed. TMZ reports that since the incident, Son has been moved to solitary confinement. [via LAT, TMZ] [Photo: AP] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook RELATED
